Godrej Consumer Products Q2 net profit rises 15% to Rs 212 crore
MUMBAI: Godrej Consumer Products posted a 15 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 212 crore for the quarter ended September led by recovery in Household Insecticides.

The maker of Cinthol soaps and GoodKnight mosquito repellent grew 7 per cent in sales at Rs 1,305 crore, driven by a volume growth of 9 per cent.

"Going forward, we expect consumer demand to gradually improve, particularly in rural India. Multiple tailwinds such as a good monsoon, MSP (minimum support price) increases and pension scheme benefits will lead to better growth for the FMCG sector in India in the quarters ahead," said Adi Godrej, Chairman, Godrej Group.

While household insecticides recorded a double-digit volume led sales growth of 18 per cent, soap sales declined by 10 per cent due to withdrawal of promotions and hair colour sales remained flat, the company said.
