Godrej Consumer Products Limited Q2 net profit at Rs 131 crore
FMCG player Godrej Consumer Products Limited posted a net profit of Rs 131 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2010.
The company had a net profit of Rs 83 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2009, Godrej Consumer Products said in a statement.
The company also said its board of directors has declared a second interim dividend of Re 1 per share for the financial year 2010-11.
During the period under review, the company's net sales stood at Rs 951.78 crore. It had net sales of Rs 575.59 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
The company said figures of the current quarter are not comparable to that of the corresponding quarter of the previous year because of the acquisitions made since then.
"Enhanced penetration and improved volumes have driven our sales growth. Continuing focus on optimising our category mix is also enabling us to improve our profitability," GCPL Chairman Adi Godrej said, adding that its international operations have also performed strongly during the period.
