Godrej Consumer net profit up 94%
Godrej Consumer Products beat analyst estimates to report a 94% rise in its first-quarter net profit after a slew of acquisitions helped it boost international sales.
The maker of Cinthol soap, GoodKnight mosquito repellant and Brylcreem hair gel plans to buy more companies in Asia, Africa and Latin America, Godrej Consumers Chairman Adi Godrej said.
“We have just completed the acquisition of Darling Group in Africa and following our 3X3 strategy, we are looking for some more such acquisitions,” he said.
Godrej Consumer reported a net profit of Rs 239 crore in the first quarter ended June on revenues of Rs 998 crore, which was 40% more than the year-earlier period. International business contributed roughly 36% of sales.
