GNFC's Q4 net declines by 45 pc to Rs 75.15 crore

The company had reported net profit of Rs 136.89 crore in the year-ago period, it said in a filing to the BSE.

MUMBAI: Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Company ( GNFC) today reported a 45 per cent decline in its standalone net profit at Rs 75.15 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2012.

The company had reported net profit of Rs 136.89 crore in the year-ago period, it said in a filing to the BSE.

The standalone net sales of the company rose by 37 per cent to Rs 1,154.30 crore in the fourth quarter of the last fiscal from Rs 842.34 crore in the same quarter of the 2010-11 fiscal.

For the 2011-12 fiscal, GNFC posted a standalone net profit of Rs 283.84 crore as against Rs 266.53 crore in the year-ago period.

The standalone net sales of the company rose to Rs 3,862.01 crore in the 2011-12 fiscal from Rs 2,845.89 crore in the 2010-11 fiscal.

GNFC is engaged in manufacturing and selling fertilisers such as urea, ammonium nitrophosphate and calcium ammonium nitrate.

Shares of the company today fell marginally by 0.25 per cent to settle at Rs 80.60 apiece from its previous close at the BSE.
