GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Q1 net up 19% at Rs 156 cr

GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Ltd today posted 19 per cent increase in profit after tax at Rs 156 crore for the first quarter ended March 31.

NEW DELHI: GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Ltd today posted 19 per cent increase in profit after tax at Rs 156 crore for the first quarter ended March 31.

Net sales of GSKCH rose to Rs 940 crore for the January- March quarter, up 16 per cent over the same period last year.

GSKCH Managing Director Zubair Ahmed said the first quarter results have been in line with the company's expectations.

"Despite slowing economic conditions, the company continues to deliver superior results owing to our focus on innovation, distribution expansion and cost control," he said.

GSKCH, which is an associate of UK-based GlaxoSmithKline plc, has manufacturing plants located in Nabha, Rajahmundry and Sonepat.

It's well known brands include, Horlicks, Boost, Eno, Crocin, Iodex and Sensodyne.
