GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Q2 net up 29% to Rs 106 crore

GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare today reported a 29.3 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 106.60 crore for the second quarter ended June.

MUMBAI: GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare today reported a 29.3 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 106.60 crore for the second quarter ended June, up from Rs 82.46 crore a year ago.

In a statement, the maker of Horlicks, Boost, Maltova, Eno, Crocin, and Iodex said its sales during the period under review stood at Rs 729.73 crore against Rs 653.38 crore a year ago.

"We have shown consistent double-digits growth over the years and the results of this quarter are also in-line with our strong performance. Focus on innovation and leveraging science to develop products, cost efficiency initiatives and increased penetration across categories have helped us deliver superior results in a challenging business environment," GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare managing director Zubair Ahmed said.
