Geodesic's net up 4.78 pc to Rs 69.4 cr in Q4

MUMBAI: Internet software and services provider Geodesic Ltd today said its consolidated net profit grew 4.78 per cent to Rs 69.44 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2010, over the corresponding period a year ago.

It had a consolidated net profit of Rs 66.27 crore in the same period last fiscal, Geodesic Ltd said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Consolidated total income declined to Rs 174.72 crore in the quarter under review from Rs 181.36 crore in the same period last year, it said.

For the year ended March 31, 2010, consolidated net profit dropped to Rs 248.02 crore from Rs 264.34 crore in the last fiscal, it added.

Consolidated total income declined to Rs 644.19 crore in the year under review from Rs 653.14 crore in the previous year, Geodesic said.

For the quarter ended March 31, 2010, standalone net profit surged to Rs 47.26 crore from Rs 40.69 crore in the same period last year, the company said.

Standalone total income fell to Rs 126.02 crore in the quarter under review from Rs 139.12 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, it said in the filing.

The board of directors has approved a 5 per cent buy-back of Geodesic shares at a price of Rs 150 per piece.

Shares of the company closed at Rs 115.25, down 2.12 per cent from the previous close on the BSE.
