Empee Distilleries reports Q3 net loss at Rs 2.47 crore

CHENNAI: Empee Distilleries, part of the diversified Empee Group, today registered a net loss of Rs 2.47 crore for the third quarter ending June 30.

The company had reported a net profit of Rs 1.60 crore during the year-ago period, Chennai-based Empee Distilleries said in a BSE filing.

For the nine month period ending June 30, the net loss was Rs 3.97 crore against a net profit of Rs 10.57 crore during the corresponding period of last year.

For the financial year ending September 30, 2013, the net profit was Rs 11.08 crore.

Empee Distilleries follows October-September as its financial year period.

The company's total income from operations for the third quarter ending June 30 slipped to Rs 79.37 crore from Rs 154.02 crore registered in same period of the previous year.

For the nine month period ending June 30, the total income fell to Rs 390.46 crore from Rs 455.65 crore registered during the year-ago period.

Shares of the company closed 1.01 per cent down at Rs 44.10 apiece on the BSE.
