EIL Q1 PAT jumps 29%; HPCL-Mittal refinary unit achieves mechanical completion

State-run Engineers India (EIL) has reported a 29% jump in its net profit to Rs 148 crore in the first quarter of current financial year.

NEW DELHI: State-run Engineers India ( EIL) has reported a 29% jump in its net profit to Rs 148 crore in the first quarter of current financial year.

EIL chairman & managing director AK Purwaha said that the engineering consultancy firm has an order book of Rs 6,800 crore and this quarter it has mechanically completed the 9 million tonne capacity refinery unit at Bhatinda in Punjab, which is jointly promoted by LN Mittal and Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd.

"Crude (oil) from Mudra port has traveled 700 km to reach the refining unit. But commercial production at the refinery will be started only by the end of this year," Purwaha told reporters.

"Crude is expected to reach at the refining unit storage by second or third week of August," he said adding that mechanical completion of other units is also in progress.
