Eicher Motors Q4 profit soars over two-fold

Commercial vehicle maker Eicher Motors today reported an over two-fold increase in its consolidated profit for the quarter ended December 31, 2010, at Rs 54.86 crore.

NEW DELHI: Commercial vehicle maker Eicher Motors today reported an over two-fold increase in its consolidated profit for the quarter ended December 31, 2010, at Rs 54.86 crore.

The company had posted a profit of Rs 20.37 crore in the corresponding period previous year, Eicher Motors said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The consolidated total income from operations also jumped by 41.40 per cent to Rs 1,235.07 crore from Rs 873.46 crore in the year-ago period, it added.

For the January-December period, the consolidated profit soared by over two-fold to Rs 188.92 crore from Rs 83.39 crore in 2009, the filing said.

The consolidated total income from operations in 2010, stood at Rs 4,421.26 crore compared to Rs 2,954.90 crore in the year-ago 12-month period, up 49.62 per cent, it added.

The board of the company recommended a 110 per cent dividend for its shares of Rs 11 each.
