Eicher Motors Q1 revenue declines 7% to Rs 2,382 crore

Royal Enfield sold 181,966 motorcycles in the quarter, registering a decline of 19%.

Gurugram-based Eicher Motors Wednesday reported a 21.5% decline in net profit at Rs 452 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2019. The company had posted net profit of Rs 576 crore in the corresponding period of the last financial year.

Revenue from operations for the company declined 7% to Rs 2382 crore last quarter. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) dropped 24% to Rs 614 crore in the period under review.

Royal Enfield sold 181,966 motorcycles in the quarter, registering a decline of 19% from 225,286 motorcycles sold over the same period in the last financial year.


Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director of Eicher Motors, said, “The two-wheeler and the CV industry continue to face headwinds on account of weak consumer demand.”
