Dhampur Sugar Mills net profit up at Rs 52.63 crore for March Quarter

The total revenue in the March quarter rose by 18.04% to Rs 349.50 crore compared to Rs 296.07 crore in the corresponding period last year.

MUMBAI: Dhampur Sugar Mills ( DSML) today reported four-fold increase in net profit to Rs 52.63 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011.

The net profit in the year-ago period stood at Rs 12.53 crore, DSML said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The total revenue in the March quarter rose by 18.04 per cent to Rs 349.50 crore compared to Rs 296.07 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.

The company has also recommended a dividend of Rs one per share for the 18 month period ending March 31, 2011, the filing added.

The Dhampur Group has a sugarcane crushing capacity of 39,500 tonne of cane per day (TCD).

Its products include power, ethanol, chemicals, refined sugar and plantation white sugar.

Shares of the company settled at Rs 51.75, up by 3.29 per cent from its previous close at BSE.
