DFPC Q3 net down by 23.8 pc

In terms of total income, the company registered a growth of over four per cent in the quarter under consideration (October-December) to Rs 394.15 crore.

NEW DELHI: Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation (DFPC) today reported a decline of 23.8 per cent in net profit at Rs 40.26 crore for the quarter ended on December 31, 2010, as against the comparable period last fiscal.

The company had reported a net profit of Rs 52.86 crore for the quarter ended on December 31, 2009, including an exceptional gain of Rs 25.71 crore through sale of land, DFPC said in a filing to Bombay Stock Exchange.

In terms of total income, the company registered a growth of over four per cent in the quarter under consideration (October-December) to Rs 394.15 crore as compare to Rs 378.04 crore in the corresponding period.

The company said that net profit for quarter under review is not comparable with the corresponding quarter.

"Profit After Tax (PAT) for the quarter for the previous financial year given the exceptional gain of Rs 25.71 crore, arising from sale of surplus land in Q3 last fiscal," the filing said.
