NEW DELHI: DCM Shriram Consolidated Ltd ( DSCL) today posted over 66 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 82.33 crore for the quarter ended March on better sales in businesses such as sugar, fertiliser and chloro-vinyl.

The company had posted net profit of Rs 49.5 crore in the same quarter last year, the company said in a filing to the BSE.

DSCL's total income rose by seven per cent at Rs 1,426.77 crore in the fourth quarter of 2012-13 fiscal, as against Rs 1,336.99 crore in the corresponding period of previous year.

The increase in revenue was driven by growth in sugar, fertiliser, chloro-vinyl sales.

For the 2012-13 fiscal, DSCL's consolidated net profit rose sharply to 202.45 crore, from Rs 11.9 crore in the previous financial year.

The revenue was up by 10 per cent at Rs 5,538 crore in 2012-13, as against Rs 5,039 crore in the previous fiscal.

DSCL scrip rose by 1 per cent to settle at Rs 57.80 on the BSE.
