DCM Shriram Consolidated Ltd April-June quarter net up 19 per cent at Rs 30.93 crore

DCM Shriram Consolidated Ltd (DSCL) today reported a 19 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 30.93 crore for the quarter ended June 30.

NEW DELHI: DCM Shriram Consolidated Ltd ( DSCL) today reported a 19 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 30.93 crore for the quarter ended June 30.

DSCL, which is engaged in manufacturing of seeds, sugar and fertilisers, had posted a net profit of Rs 26.04 crore in the year-ago period.

The consolidated net sales of the company rose by 17 per cent to Rs 1,423.49 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal from Rs 1,215.05 crore in the same quarter of 2011-12 fiscal, it said in a BSE filing.

"We are glad to report a satisfactory performance for this quarter, led by healthy growth rates in chloro-vinyl and bioseed businesses," DSCL Chairman Ajay Shriram said in a statement.

The Performance of chloro-vinyl business was driven by healthy realisations of all chloro-vinyl products especially chlor-alkali products and initiatives taken by the company to mitigate the impact of rising costs, he added.

On bioseed and farm solutions businesses, DSCL Managing Director Vikram Shriram said: "The growth has been impacted by adverse weather conditions prevalent in the major part of the country".

DSCL is an integrated business group with interests in fertilisers, bioseeds, chloro-vinyl and sugar.

Shares of the company today declined by 0.21 per cent to close at Rs 47.85 a piece from its previous close at the BSE.
