Packaged consumer goods maker Dabur India on Thursday reported 8.27% rise in consolidated net profit at₹494.35 crore for the quarter ended June 2024, meeting analyst estimates.

The maker of Real juice and Vatika shampoo reported that rural demand outpaced urban demand by 350 bps in the quarter, even as an overall challenging demand environment marked by high food inflation persisted.

Dabur had reported consolidated net profit of ₹456.6 crore in the corresponding year-ago quarter.


Nearly half of the company’s annual sales are contributed by the hinterland. Sustained demand revival from villages is crucial for overall growth of the FMCG sector, with well over a third of the annual sales of large companies dependent on the hinterland.
