D B Corp's Q2 net profit down 38% at Rs 41.37 cr
Media firm D B Corp has posted 38.18 per cent decline in net profit for the second quarter ended September, at Rs 41.37 crore.
During the three months ended September 30, 2010, the company's net profit stood at Rs 66.90 crore.
Its net sales for the quarter under review increased by 15.19 per cent at Rs 342.62 crore, as against Rs 297.43 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year, D B Corp said in a filing to the BSE.
D B Corp publishes eight newspapers, including Dainik Bhaskar, Divya Bhaskar, Saurashtra Samachar and DNA.
Commenting on the results, D B Corp Managing Director Sudhir Agarwal said : "This quarter, our growth was led by a combination of innovations, market development and a relentless focus on execution."
"In an overall business environment, we are managing our business dynamically, with strong focus on operational efficiencies to ensure that we remain competitive and cost efficient," he said.
D B Corp's scrip closed at Rs 230.15 per share, up 2.31 per cent from its previous close on the BSE.
