Colgate Palmolive Q4 net down 5.78% at Rs 123.2 crore

NEW DELHI: Oral care products maker Colgate Palmolive today reported 5.78 per cent decline in net profit for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2013 at Rs 123.2 crore.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 130.77 crore in the same quarter previous fiscal, Colgate Palmolive said in a filing to the BSE.

Net sales during the period under review stood Rs 811.58 crore as compared to Rs 685.94 crore in the previous fiscal, it added.

The toothpaste category recorded volume growth of 11 per cent during the quarter led by brands such as Colgate Dental cream, Active Salt, MaxFresh and Colgate Total, it said.

The company said for the full year 2012-13, its net profit stood at Rs 496.75 crore as compared to Rs 446.47 crore in the previous fiscal.

During FY13, net sales were at Rs 3,084.11 crore as compared to Rs 2,623.65 crore in the previous fiscal.

Shares of Colgate Palmolive ended the day at Rs 1,473.10 apiece, down 1.19 per cent from their previous close on the BSE.
