Colgate-Palmolive Q2 net profit up 11.8% at Rs 100 cr
Leading oral care company Colgate-Palmolive today posted an 11.8 per cent jump in net profit to Rs 100 crore for the quarter ended September 30.
The company had registered a net profit of Rs 89.7 crore in the same period last fiscal.
Net sales of the company during the quarter stood at Rs 551.77 crore, a 13 per cent increase from Rs 487.26 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
During the period, the company said it achieved a volume growth of 13 per cent vis-a-vis the same quarter last fiscal, driven by a 12 per cent jump in sales of 'Colgate' brand toothpaste.
"During the current quarter, the company continued to support its brand and equity-building activities with advertising and sales promotion expenditure at Rs 78.9 crore," Colgate-Palmolive said in a statement.
Colgate-Palmolive sells toothpastes, tooth powder, toothbrushes and mouthwash under the 'Colgate' brand.
