Colgate-Palmolive Q1 net profit jumps 8% to Rs 126 crore

Its net sales were up 12.49 per cent to Rs 1,141.54 crore during the period under review as against Rs 1,014.72 crore of the corresponding quarter.

MUMBAI: Colgate-Palmolive India has posted an 8% increase in quarterly net profit at Rs 125.72 crore, helped by launches of premium products in the oral-care segment.

For the quarter ended June, sales grew 12% to Rs 1,141.5 crore with domestic volume growth at 5%.

“The stream of innovations launched by the company during this quarter echo our sustained promise to growing the oral care category by building new segments based on consumer insights, our years of experience, advanced technology and progressive products," said Issam Bachaalani, MD at Colgate India.

The company maintained its leadership in the toothpaste and toothbrush categories with a volume market share of 55.9% and 55.3%, respectively.
