Colgate-Palmolive posts 16% rise in net profit

The company maintained its leadership position in toothpastes category with a 55.7% share, and toothbrush category with 46.6%.

Colgate-Palmolive posts 16% rise in net profit
MUMBAI: Colgate-Palmolive (India) posted a 16% increase in net profit to Rs 181 crore in the three months ended September.

Net sales increased 10% to Rs 1195 crore, the company said in a statement. "Despite of slowing market conditions, Colgate maintains its leadership position and continues to offer customised products for each market segment" ,said Issam Bachaalani, MD, Colgate-Palmolive.

Volume growth is 4% for the quarter.

The company maintained its leadership position in toothpastes category with a 55.7% share, and toothbrush category with 46.6%. Advertising and promotional spending rose 28% to Rs 128 crore.
