Coal India Q4 results: Net profit dips 23% to Rs 4,626 crore; misses Street expectations

New Delhi: Coal India on Friday posted 23.24 per cent year-on-year fall in consolidated net profit at Rs 4,625.76 crore for the quarter ended March 31. It had posted a net profit of Rs 6,026.47 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Analysts in an ETNow Poll had projected the figure at Rs 5,055 crore.

Consolidated revenue of the company declined 3.56 per cent YoY to Rs 27,568.23 crore during the quarter under review. An ETNow poll had projected the figure at Rs 26,640 crore.


Total expenditure stood at Rs 22,033.90 crore in Q4FY20 over Rs 21,471.78 crore in Q4FY19.

The company announced the result post market hours. Earlier, share price of Coal India closed 0.82 per cent up at Rs 141.95, while the benchmark BSE Sensex settled 0.94 per cent higher at 35,171.
