Century Plyboards FY19 profit flat at Rs 158 crore

Kolkata-based Century Plyboards (I) on Monday reported a marginal 1.35 % rise in net profit for the financial year 2018-19. The company reported a net profit of Rs 158.76 crore for the year ended March 31, 2019, compared to Rs 156.64 crore clocked in the corresponding period of 2017-18.

Net revenue from operations during the year under review saw a growth of 15.07 % at Rs 2,263.83 crore against Rs 1,967.22 crore in the corresponding previous fiscal. The board of directors have declared a final dividend of Rs 1 per equity share (excluding dividend tax) for the financial year 2018-19, according to a company release.

Earnings before depreciation, interest and tax for the financial year 2018-19 at Rs 306.43 crore was down by 2 % as against Rs 312.73 crore clocked in the previous fiscal.


Commenting on the results, CenturyPly chairman Sajjan Bhajanka said, although the overall situation was challenging., "we have been able to maintain our profitability."

He also informed that the company's particle boards business have performed exceptionally well during the fourth-quarter of the financial year 2018-19. For the Q4 ended March 31, 2019, the plywood manufacturer's net profit was marginally lower at Rs 34.16 crore while net turnover was up by 7% at Rs 583.23 crore.
