Carborundum Universal Q3 net profit up 28.8 pc
Carborundum Universal, a part of the USD 3.8 billion Murugappa Group, has reported a 28.8 per cent jump in consolidated net profit to Rs 47.40 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.
The city-based company had posted a net profit of Rs 36.79 crore for the third quarter last fiscal, it said in a statement.
For the nine-month period ended December 31, 2011, the company's net profit grew by 36.17 per cent to Rs 165.26 crore from Rs 121.36 crore in the first three quarters of the previous fiscal.
The company's consolidated total income for the third quarter ended December 31, 2011, rose to Rs 502.07 crore from Rs 421.53 crore in the corresponding year-ago period.
For the nine-month period ended December 31, 2011, its total income soared to Rs 1,504.80 crore from Rs 1,209.83 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.
The board at its meeting today recommended a Re 1 per share (100 per cent) interim dividend on shares of Re 1 face value each, it added.
