Camson Biotechnologies today recorded a marginal increase of 1.6 per cent at Rs 3.2 crore in its net profit for the quarter ended September 2011.

MUMBAI: Camson Biotechnologies today recorded a marginal increase of 1.6 per cent at Rs 3.2 crore in its net profit for the quarter ended September 2011.

The second quarter net for the bio-products company stood at Rs 3.1 crore in the same period last year.

Camson's revenues during the September quarter increased to Rs 23.7 crore from Rs 23.1 crore in the year-ago period, a company statement said.

The total income of the company which offers a wide range of bio-products, including biocides, bio-fertilisers and hybrid seeds, zoomed 13.8 per cent at Rs 49.8 crore in the first half of FY12, as against Rs 43.8 crore for the similar period in 2011.

The net profit during the period jumped by 19.1 per cent to Rs 10.2 crore from Rs 8.5 crore in the corresponding period of last year.

"The country had a good monsoon season this year and Camson Biotech has been able to achieve 15-20 per cent growth in its key markets during the kharif season. However, the overall growth in sales is less at 2.5% on account of severe drop in sales in our markets of Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, which were adversely affected by floods during the September 2011 quarter," the release said.
