NEW DELHI: Cairn India has reported an 8% increase in its net profit at Rs 3,385 crore in the second quarter because of higher output from its Rajasthan oilfield.

The company has reported a gross output of about 213,300 barrels in the quarter and it is expected to achieve over 225,000 barrels by the end of current financial year, Cairn India CEO Elango P said in a statement.

"Whilst Rajasthan remains at the heart of the company's operations, it is encouraging to see tangible results across our broader portfolio," Elango said. The Rajasthan block has completed four years of oil production, he said.
