BPCL net profit rises 11% to Rs 2,620 crore

The company’s total income declines to Rs 57,015.7 crore from Rs 58,818.4 crore. Crude throughput in the quarter increased marginally to 6.2 million tons from 6.07 mt.

BPCL net profit rises 11% to Rs 2,620 crore
MUMBAI: Bharat Petroleum Corporation’s net profit increased to Rs 2,620 crore in the first quarter of 2016-17, up 11% year-on-year, the state run oil marketing company said Wednesday.

The company’s total income declines to Rs 57,015.7 crore from Rs 58,818.4 crore. Crude throughput in the quarter increased marginally to 6.2 million tons from 6.07 million ton.

The company said market sales increased to 9.73 million ton from 9 million ton a year ago, driven by retail motor spirit, high speed diesel and LPG sales.
The company’s average gross refining margin in Q1FY17 stood at $6.09 a barrel as against $8.55 a barrel a year ago.
