Bhushan Steel's Q1 profit up 20 per cent at Rs 205 cr

Domestic steel producer Bhushan Steel today reported a jump of about 20 per cent in its net profit at Rs 205.7 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, over the same period last year.

MUMBAI: Domestic steel producer Bhushan Steel today reported a jump of about 20 per cent in its net profit at Rs 205.7 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, over the same period last year.

However, the company had reported a net profit of Rs 171.8 crore in the year-ago period, Bhushan Steel said in a filing to Bombay Stock Exchange.

Total income increased to Rs 1,378.2 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2010, as against Rs 1,337.4 crore in the corresponding quarter a year-ago.
