NEW DELHI: Capital goods major BHEL on Tuesday reported a net profit of Rs 109 crore for the quarter ended September 30. The number came in lower than Rs 120 crore that analysts had projected in an ETNow survey.

The largest domestic engineering and manufacturing company had reported a loss of Rs 181 crore for the same quarter last year.

Net sales for the quarter rose to Rs 6,550.77 crore, up 12.08 per cent YoY from Rs 5,844.50 crore reported for the corresponding quarter last year.

Ebitda came in at Rs 155 crore , which was higher than Rs 139 crore anticipated by analysts in the ETNow poll. Margins stood at 2.4 per cent for the quarter against 2.1 per cent estimated by analysts. Some analysts were anticipating continued pricing pressure in the boiler and turbine generator (BTG) segment.

The company said its order book stood at Rs 1.03 lakh crore as of September 30.
