BHEL Q2 profit jumps 60% YoY to Rs 185 crore, misses Street estimates

NEW DELHI: State-run BHEL on Thursday reported 60.4 per cent jump in year-on-year net profit at Rs 185. 17 crore for the September quarter, missing Rs 218 crore estimate analysts projected in an ET Now poll.

The engineering and manufacturing major had reported Rs 115.42 crore profit in the year-ago quarter.

Net sales for the quarter rose 7.1 per cent YoY to Rs 6,606.90 crore compared with Rs 6,168.36 crore in the same quarter last year. ET Now poll had projected sales of Rs 6,902 crore for the quarter.


Other income for the quarter at Rs 151 crore was lower than Rs 218 crore the company reported in the year-ago quarter.

Ebitda reported by the company for the September qaurter at Rs 240.70 crore was higher than Q2FY18’s Rs 171 crore, but was lower than Rs Rs 362 crore ET Now estimate.
