BHEL posts 49% YoY jump in Q4 profit at Rs 683 crore

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) on Monday posted a 49.33 per cent year-on-year rise in net profit at Rs 682.70 crore for the quarter ended March 2019. It had reported a net profit of Rs 457.17 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Sales of the company stood almost flat at Rs 9,836.50 crore in Q4FY19 over Rs 9,832.82 crore in the same period last year.

Other expenses declined to Rs 1,081.10 crore for the quarter ended March 2019 against Rs 1,895.49 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Shares of the company climbed over 3.50 per cent to Rs 71.50 after the announcement of quarterly results. The BSE Sensex was up 0.89 per cent at 39,785 at around 12.53 pm (IST).

The board also recommended a final dividend of Rs 1.20 per share for the financial year 2018-19.

Profit before tax increased 12.76 per cent YoY to Rs 1285.43 crore for the quarter under review. The figure stood at Rs 1,139.87 crore in the same period last year.
