Arvind Remedies Q4 net profit at Rs 12.41 crore

MUMBAI: Arvind Remedies Ltd (ARL), a producer of branded and generic pharmaceutical products, today said it has registered higher net profit of Rs 12.41 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2013 against Rs 45 lakh in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.


The company's net sales for the quarter stood at Rs 173.98 crore, registering a growth of 65 per cent, as against Rs 105.6 crore in year-ago period.

EBIDTA (Earnings before Interest Tax Depreciation and Amortization)for the quarter has grown to Rs 38.16 crore up by 63 per cent, against Rs 23.5 crore in the same period of the last year, a company statement said here.

Net sales for FY13 up by 52 per cent at Rs 664 crore as against Rs 436 crore in FY12.

EBITDA for FY13 up by 97 per cent to Rs 133.73 crore against Rs 67.78 in FY12. Net profit for full year was Rs 40.61 crore, registering a growth of 109 per cent, as against Rs 19 crore in FY12, the release said.

Company's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Arvind B Shah said, "As a part of our business strategy, we have decided to demerge our Irangattukottai unit into a wholly owned subsidiary, Arvind Wellness Ltd (AWL).

"It covers dosage forms like oral solid dosage forms, oral liquid dosage forms, topical preparations, hard and soft gelatin preparations and Iiquid parentals."
