Arvind Ltd reports Rs 65 crore profit in second quarter

AHMEDABAD: Arvind Limited recorded revenue of Rs 1325 crore and Net Profit After tax of Rs. 65 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2012 as against revenue of Rs. 1254 cr and Net Profit After tax of Rs. 62 crore for Q2 of last fiscal. At the operating level, consolidated EBIDTA for Q2 stood at Rs. 165 crore, the company said.

During the quarter, textile business grew by 13% driven by 25% volume growth in shirting fabric and 4% volume growth in denim fabric. Brands and retail business grew by 6% in the period. Director and CFO Jayesh Shah said the company expects volume growth in shirting fabrics and much better Q3 for brands and retail business due to the festive season.
