NEW DELHI: Dairy major Amul reported a sharp 32 per cent growth in turnover to Rs 18,143 crore during 2013-14 on the back of strong sales.

Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation ( GCMMF), which sells milk products under the Amul brand, had a turnover of Rs 13,700 crore in 2012-13.

"There was substantial increase in sales in both volume and value terms which was the main driver of our growth," GCMMF Managing Director RS Sodhi told PTI.

The increase in sales was across Amul dairy products during last financial year, he said.

For this financial year, he said the cooperative plans to achieve a turnover of Rs 21,600 crore.
