Alembic Q3 net zooms over two-fold to Rs 30.84 cr

NEW DELHI: Drug maker Alembic Ltd today said its consolidated net profit surged over two-fold to Rs 30.84 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2010, over the same period previous fiscal.
The company had a net profit of Rs 13.58 crore in the same period last fiscal, Alembic said in a filing to Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The company's total income stood at Rs 366.27 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2010, compared to Rs 300.90 crore in the same period last fiscal.
The company's domestic formulation business posted sales of Rs 184.24 crore for the third quarter, compared to Rs 153.51 crore in the same period last fiscal.
The company's international business stood at Rs 51.72 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, compared to Rs 24.78 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
Shares of Alembic Limited today closed at Rs 69.75 on BSE, up 1.68 per cent from its previous close.
