Ajanta Pharma Q4 profit up 35% to Rs 23.59 crore

NEW DELHI: Ajanta Pharma today said its net profit rose by 35.10 per cent to Rs 23.59 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2012.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 17.46 crore in the same period previous financial year, Ajanta Pharma said in a filing to the BSE.

Net sales of the company rose to Rs 172.59 crore for the fourth against Rs 125.42 crore in the same period previous fiscal.

For the year ended March 31, 2012, the company posted a net profit of Rs 77.26 crore compared to Rs 50.71 crore in the same period previous fiscal.

The company's board, which met today, has recommended dividend of Rs 7.50 per share of the face value of Rs 10 each.

The board has also approved sub-division of shares from Rs 10 each to nominal value of Rs 5 each, the company said.

Shares of Ajanta Pharma today closed at Rs 533 on the BSE, down 5.91 per cent from its previous close.
