AirAsia Q1 loss more than halves

The low fare carrier also posted its first profit of Rs 21.24 crore at the EBITDAR (Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, amortisation and lease rentals) level, compared to a loss of Rs 29.32 crore in the corresponding quarter the previous year.
Revenue increased to Rs 188.92 crore from Rs 109.46 crore.
Staff costs decreased to Rs 30.73 crore from Rs 31.40 crore. Maintenance cost also declined to Rs 23.50 crore from Rs 27.39 crore.
Its cost per available seat kilometre declined by 29%.
