Advanta India posts Rs 13.38 crore net profit in Jan-Mar quarter

Hybrid seeds producer Advanta India reported a net profit of Rs 13.38 crore for the quarter ended March 31.

MUMBAI: Hybrid seeds producer Advanta India today reported a net profit of Rs 13.38 crore for the quarter ended March 31.

The company had posted a net loss of Rs 3.45 crore in the year-ago period.

Net sales of the company rose by 45 per cent to Rs 255.46 crore in the fourth quarter of the last fiscal from Rs 175.74 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal, it said in a filing to the BSE.

Advanta is an associate firm of United Phosphorus, a leading agro-chemical company. It is a breeder and producer of hybrid seeds of cotton, maize, rice, millet, mustard and sunflower.

Shares of the company declined marginally by 0.02 per cent to settle at Rs 440.85 crore on the BSE.
