Aditya Birla Capital Q1 Results: Profit jumps 40% YoY to Rs 1,175 crore
Aditya Birla Capital Ltd on Friday reported a 40 per cent rise in profit to Rs 1,175 crore on a consolidated basis for the first quarter ended June.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 835 crore in the same period a year ago.

The consolidated total income of the company rose to Rs 12,187 crore in the April-June period, from Rs 9,531 crore in the year-ago period, Aditya Birla Capital Ltd (ABCL) said in a regulatory filing.


The total expenses also grew to Rs 10,692 crore in the quarter against Rs 8,460 crore in the year-ago period.

The company is present in non-banking finance companies (NBFC) business, housing finance, asset management, life and general insurance, among others.

ABCL is the holding company for the financial services businesses of the Aditya Birla Group.

The overall lending portfolio (NBFC and HFC) grew by 32 per cent to Rs 2,19,289 crore as on June 30, it said.

The total Assets under management (Asset management company, life insurance and health insurance) rose 36 per cent year-on-year to Rs 7,52,745 crore at the end of first quarter.

The life insurance individual first year premium grew by 20 per cent to Rs 952 crore and health insurance gross written premium grew by 50 per cent to Rs 2,196 crore in Q1 FY27.

During the quarter, the company raised equity growth capital of Rs 4,000 crore.

Of this, Rs 2,880 crore were raised from Grasim Industries Ltd (Promoter), Rs 200 crore from Suryaja Investment Pte Ltd, Singapore (Promoter Group entity) and Rs 920 crore from International Finance Corporation (IFC) via preferential allotment of shares, it said.

A large majority of the proceeds from the raise that is 87.5 per cent will be utilised for meeting the growth objectives of the NBFC business and 12.5 per cent for other general corporate purposes, including investments in subsidiaries/JV/associates, it added.
