ACC Q1 Results: Profit plunges 60% to Rs 147 crore on lower sales

The company had posted a profit of Rs 375 crore in the April-June quarter a year ago, according to a regulatory filing from ACC, a subsidiary of Ambuja Cement.
Its revenue from operations was also down 7.75 per cent to Rs 5,790 crore in the June quarter. It was at Rs 6,277 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.
"During the quarter, profitability reflected the impact of planned maintenance of larger Integrated Units, higher Master Services Agreement (MSA) with parent Ambuja Cement, even as we continued to prioritise value-led growth and quality earnings," said its Whole-Time Director & CEO Vinod Bahety.
In Q1/FY27, premium products contributed 44 per cent of trade sales. It was at 41 per cent in the corresponding period a year ago.
Total expenses of ACC were down 3.35 per cent at Rs 5,639 crore in the June quarter.
The company has "witnessed marginal cost reduction sequentially through focused cost optimisation initiatives, despite headwinds from the West Asia conflict," according to the earnings statement from ACC.
In the June quarter, ACC's revenue from the cement business was down 9.73 per cent at Rs 5,376 crore. It was at Rs 5,956 crore in the June quarter a year ago.
ACC quarterly sales volume was down 13 per cent to 10 MnT (million tonnes) in the April-June period. This was at 11.5 MnT in the corresponding period a year ago.
However, ACC's revenue from Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) was up 20.43 per cent to Rs 501 crore in the June quarter.
Meanwhile, in a separate filing, ACC informed its board has approved the acquisition of 26 per cent equity shares in Amplus Andhra Power Pvt Ltd.
On the cost of acquisition, ACC said it is "approximately Rs 5.31 crore". Incorporated on October 24, 2016, the company is engaged in the business of Infrastructure and Renewable Energy. ACC expects the proposed acquisition to be completed before October 30, 2026.
While updating its merger with parent entity Ambuja Cement, ACC informed it has received a No Objection Certificate (NoC) from the market regulator SEBI in this regard.
"An application has been filed with the NCLT on 29 June 2026. The transaction is expected to be completed during FY'27, subject to regulatory approvals," it said.
The Adani Group under 'One Cement Platform' is strategically consolidating its assets under Ambuja Cements by merging other group companies ACC and Orient Cement into a single unified corporate structure.
Over the industry outlook, ACC said cement demand is expected to remain "soft at 5 per cent" for FY'27.
"While near-term cement demand may be impacted by seasonal monsoon softness, geopolitical uncertainties, and input cost volatility, the sector's long-term outlook remains constructive, supported by sustained infrastructure investments, urbanisation, and housing demand," it said.
Shares of ACC Ltd on Friday settled at Rs 1,339.20 on BSE, up 0.36 per cent from the previous close.
