The wait is almost over for investors in the Tempsens Instruments IPO, with the allotment expected to be finalised today, August 25. The Rs 650-crore public issue received an overwhelming response, leaving investors eager to know whether they have been allotted shares.

Investors can check their IPO allotment status online through the IPO registrar’s website, as well as the BSE and NSE portals.

Adding to the excitement, the IPO’s grey market premium (GMP) is currently around 105%, signalling the possibility of a strong debut for the stock. However, GMP trends are unofficial and can change before listing. The current premium nevertheless points to the potential for substantial listing gains.


Once the allotment process is completed, shares allotted to successful applicants are expected to be credited to their demat accounts ahead of the stock’s market debut.

The IPO was open for subscription from August 20 to August 24 and received a massive response from investors. It was subscribed 184.07 times overall. The retail portion was subscribed 60.69 times, while the QIB category recorded 302.88 times subscription. The NII segment saw even stronger demand, with its portion subscribed 314.44 times.

Tempsens Instruments, which specialises in thermal engineering products and specialised cables, raised Rs 650 crore through the public issue. The IPO comprised a fresh issue of 32 lakh shares worth Rs 95 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of 1.85 crore shares amounting to Rs 555 crore.

The company had fixed the IPO price band at Rs 285–Rs 300 per share, with a lot size of 50 shares. At the upper end of the price band, retail investors were required to invest a minimum of Rs 15,000 to bid for one lot.

As per the tentative IPO schedule, the company’s shares are expected to be listed on both the NSE and BSE on August 28, 2026.

ICICI Securities Ltd is the book-running lead manager for the issue, while KFin Technologies Ltd is acting as the registrar.

Anchor investors

Tempsens Instruments (India) raised Rs 194.54 crore from 29 anchor investors ahead of its IPO, which opened for public subscription on Thursday, August 20, 2026. According to the company’s stock exchange filing, Tempsens Instruments allotted 64,84,999 equity shares to anchor investors at Rs 300 per share.

The latest grey market premium (GMP) for the Tempsens Instruments IPO stands at Rs 313, representing a 105% premium over the upper price band of Rs 300 per share. At the current GMP, the stock is estimated to list at around Rs 613 per share, indicating the possibility of substantial listing gains for investors.

Objects of the issue

Tempsens Instruments plans to use Rs 73.13 crore in net proceeds from the fresh issue to support its growth plans and strengthen its financial position. Of this amount, Rs 18.13 crore will be allocated towards capital expenditure for its electrical heating and specialised cable solutions businesses, while Rs 55 crore will be used for the prepayment or scheduled repayment of certain outstanding borrowings.

The remaining proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, giving the company flexibility to meet its broader business requirements. Overall, the funds are expected to help the company expand its operational capabilities while reducing its debt burden.

Financial performance

Tempsens Instruments (India) delivered a strong financial performance in FY26, continuing the growth momentum seen in the previous year. The company’s total income increased to Rs 455.86 crore in FY26 from Rs 382.47 crore in FY25, representing year-on-year growth of 19%.

The growth in revenue also translated into improved profitability. The company’s profit after tax (PAT) rose to Rs 71.07 crore in FY26 from Rs 62.56 crore in FY25, registering a 14% year-on-year increase.
