Investors will be selective in choosing IPOs: S Ramesh, Kotak Investment Banking
While we see more buoyancy in the IPO market, it is going to be selectivism.
Do you see very strong IPO interest because we saw that with SKS Microfinance, we saw it again with Bajaj Corp today? Is the appetite very very strong across the board or is it very sector specific?
Let me say that it gives us great pleasure to say that we have had 3 listings including Bajaj, one after the other in the last 30 odd days. We have been fortunately associated with all of them. We have seen the back of return of the retail and HNI investors more than anything else and we just hope that these listing returns first day gains gives them encouragement to keep looking at good IPOs.
Having said that, I just want to add a point of caution that while we see more buoyancy in the IPO market, it is going to be selectivism. So investors will keep picking and choosing the right IPOs to invest and so that is the game.
