Rupee plunges 30 paise in early trade

The air strike was carried around 3:30 am, the sources said.
The rupee slipped over 30 paise to 71.31 against the US dollar due to buying in American currency by banks and importers. Escalating tensions between India and Pakistan added to pressure on the forex market.

The local currency opened the day at 71.19 against the previous close of 71.98 against the greenback.

Indian Air Force on Tuesday carried out aerial strikes at major terror camps in Pakistan occupied Kashmir, completely destroying them, 12 days after the ghastly terror attack in Pulwama, according to ANI.


“12 Mirage 2000 jets took part in the operation that dropped 1000 Kg bombs on terror camps across LoC (Line of Control), completely destroying them,” IAF sources said.

The air strike was carried around 3:30 am, the sources said.
