MUMBAI: The rupee hovered around its last closing levels on Thursday against the US currency and was quoted slightly changed in late morning deals amid firm trend in local equity market.
In dull trade at the Interbank Foreign Exchange (Forex) market, the local currency resumed steady at 39.2700/2850 a dollar from overnight close of 39.28/29 and later eased to 39.29/30 in late morning deals.
There was not much activity in the exchange market in early trade, with the Sensex touching an intra-day high at 21,132.97, up by 263 points on heavy buying by funds, a forex dealer said.
