Rupee opens 10 paise down at 63.58 against dollar
Domestic institutional investors bought shares worth a net Rs 64.70 crore.

The local currency on Tuesday settled at nearly 2.5 year high of 63.48 against dollar, up 20 paise against the previous close.
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 522.74 crore in the previous trading session, as per provisional data released by the stock exchanges.
Domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 64.70 crore, as per provisional data.
Meanwhile, domestic equity markets opened in the green following global cues. The BSE Sensex opened 117.35 points, or 0.35 per cent, up at 33,929.61, while the NSE Nifty index opened 40.45 points, or 0.39 per cent, at 10,482.65.
Government bonds fell for a second day on Tuesday as investors sold notes after a surge in crude oil prices triggered fears the inflation rate is likely to stay above the central bank’s target.
The GoI benchmark 6.79 per cent 2027 bond yield rose to 7.39 per cent on January 2 from 7.34 per cent in the previous session.
