Rupee fleetingly hits 2025 high on equity inflows, soft dollar

The Indian rupee, on Tuesday, briefly hit its highest level this year on the back of likely equity inflows and a U.S. dollar that continues to struggle.

The rupee is witnessing a choppy session as it navigates rising India-Pakistan tensions, a weaker dollar and inflows via foreign banks.

The rupee opened slightly weaker and hit 85.14 per dollar, before quickly reversing to reach a year-to-date high of 84.95.
