Rupee ends day at 63.41 against dollar, down 2 paise

The currency markets were keenly waiting for the US Fed Chair Janet Yellen’s two-day testimony before the US Congress and the parliamentary voting in the Greek parliament.
There are expectations that Yellen could give more cues on the timing of the beginning of Fed rate hikes later this year. She is also expected talk about the state of the US economy.
The Fed Chair last week said that the Fed is on course to lift rates at some point this year.
Dollar index, which tracks dollar movement against a basket of world currencies, stood modestly higher at 96.67.
Globally, Greek is required to ratify four measures related to tax, pension and budget reforms in order to get the bailout. The voting in the parliament took place today.
Meanwhile, euro inched up 0.07 per cent to 1.1017 against the greenback.
