We will place significantly large aircraft order by end of this year: Vinay Dube, Akasa Air

"We are going to stay focussed on narrow bodies that is well not domestic it will be international as well but international within the sphere of 5.5 to 6 hours is what the capability of a narrow body is and that is what we will stay focussed on," says Vinay Dube, Founder & CEO, Akasa Air.

What do you plan to achieve by end of this year?
By the end of this year not only will we fly international but by the end of this year we will also place a much larger aircraft order. We have placed an order for 72 aircraft and we will place a significantly larger order than that by the end of this year. We are well on our way to doing that and so if we plan on completing that before the end of this calendar year you can imagine that we are in discussions with the manufacturers today.

I can clarify that larger order is not going to include wide bodies which means that from a network perspective it does not change the response that I have provided you.
