Synchronisation of first unit with Zambian grid a major milestone: GRK Prasad, Nava Bharat

In an interview to ET Now, GRK Prasad, ED, Nava Bharat, talks about his firm's project implementations. Edited excerpts:

ET Now: Tell us the importance and the significance of this synchronisation of the first unit with the Zambian Grid?

GRK Prasad: Well this is the major milestone in terms of project implementation. The synchronisation of the first unit with the Zambian Grid, this will be followed by the second unit in a few weeks and then commercial operations will be full planned that is the plan. We are almost on track in terms of implementation so we would have the operations from this power plant for about six months to this financial year.

ET Now: What does it do to earnings of that arm. I reckon this is fully consolidated arm of Nava Bharat?

GRK Prasad: This is actually held to the extent of 65% through our Singapore subsidiary so to that extent we would have accretion in terms of revenues as well as bottom line.

ET Now: How much addition comes in the current year if you will?

GRK Prasad: At this stage I would prefer not to disclose any number.

ET Now: When does the other you said this is the first of the 150 MW, when does the other come on stream?

GRK Prasad: The synchronisation of second unit is planned very sharply probably by end of August.
