ITD Cementation will be bidding for Namami Gange projects: S Ramnath, CFO

In a chat with ET Now S Ramnath, CFO, ITD Cementation, says that ITD Cementation did not receive any communication from government for Namami Gange projects. Edited excerpts:


ET Now: Have you received any communication from the government about the launch of 231 clean ganga projects?

S Ramnath: No, we have not received any communication as yet from the government on these projects.

ET Now: Will you be bidding for any of the projects that the government plans to inaugurate?

S Ramnath: Yes, certainly. Namami Gange projects consists of two basic channels of development; one is the cleaning up of the river, revitalising the river. The second one is construction and modernisation of ghats. Our role will be in the later stage -- construction and modernisation of ghats. And this is a long term project and we will be taking up and bidding for some of these projects.

ET Now: Would you be involved in the cleaning process or the ancillary activities?

S Ramnath: No, we are not involved in the cleaning process. We are a civil engineering company engaged in construction.

ET Now: Considering the size of these projects, what kind of order book accretion would this lead to?

S Ramnath: It is impossible to put a number on this. This is going to take years and it is not going to be accomplished in five years or ten years. It could be a multiyear project involving a lot of investment over the years.
